Overview

bookingthings ("we", "us") provides an online booking service for appointment-based businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our website, create a business account, or book an appointment through a business's public booking page.

Information we collect

Business accounts include a login email, business profile, team details, services and availability. Booking records include customer names, contact details, appointment times, selected services and any answers supplied to booking questions. Businesses may also keep client notes, appointment history and invoice details. We keep operational records needed to authenticate users, protect the service and track message and payment status.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve bookingthings, including processing bookings and related communications on behalf of businesses.

Who we share data with

We use Supabase for account authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting and web analytics, and Resend for application email delivery. Polar processes business subscription billing. Where a business enables appointment deposits, Stripe processes those payments. Google processes calendar information when connected. Twilio and Meta support optional WhatsApp messages. These providers receive the information needed for their part of the service. We do not sell personal information.

Google Calendar

When a business connects Google Calendar, we store its connection credentials and selected calendar identifier to keep appointment events in sync. We use calendar access to check availability and create, update or remove booking events. Events can include the customer’s name and contact details, service and appointment time. The business can disconnect Google Calendar in its dashboard.

Payments and invoices

We store subscription status and payment references to manage plan access. For appointment deposits and invoices, we store payment amounts, status and the billing details needed for those records. Payment providers collect payment credentials through their payment flows.

Booking messages

We may send transactional booking emails. Where a business has enabled WhatsApp and you make a separate, optional choice, the clearly identified bookingthings sender may also send the categories you selected about that named business. WhatsApp replies are not forwarded to the business and do not change a booking; use the secure link in the message instead. Reply STOP to suppress the shared WhatsApp sender globally.

We retain consent and opt-out evidence, delivery status and limited provider references needed to operate and audit the service. We do not retain raw WhatsApp webhook bodies. Twilio, Meta and our email provider process delivery data under their own applicable terms and retention obligations.

Retention

We keep information while your account or bookings remain active and as needed for legal, security, or operational purposes. A business owner can permanently delete their account and the customer data it controls from Dashboard → Profile. Subscription billing is cancelled as part of that flow. Payment, email, and other service providers may retain limited records when required by law or their own compliance obligations. Businesses are responsible for customer data they export or store outside bookingthings.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No system is completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Customers who booked with a business should contact that business first; the business can erase a client profile and anonymize its connected operational records. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies for login sessions and security. Vercel Web Analytics helps us understand page visits and general usage without analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
